Terms and Condition

Terms and Conditions

The following Terms & Conditions cover services by Fur E Pet Spa. By booking an appointment, you are agreeing that you have read and accepted these terms and conditions, and hereby release the salon from any responsibility for the below-mentioned process and all medical problems that may be uncovered and/or occur during the services. Should my pet require veterinary care after or during the service, I hereby agree for the salon to seek veterinary services.
Vaccination- All dogs are recommended to be up to date with vaccinations; those that are not vaccinated may be at risk of contracting potential viruses/diseases, although every effort is taken to maintain good hygiene Fur E Pet Spa will not accept responsibility if this occurs

Pet Safety- Due to the intimate nature of the grooming process, or a pet’s tolerance level for stress, strangers or handling, some pets can become anxious or reactive during the grooming process.

If we determine that continuing the grooming service would present a threat to your dog’s emotional or physical health, and/or the safety of the groomer completing the service, we will discontinue today’s service and contact you immediately. In the event this happens, I understand I will be responsible for any services rendered.

There is always a possibility that an accident could occur during grooming, including but not limited to cuts, scratches, grazes, nicks and quicking of nails. Fur E Pet Spa will provide utmost care and caution; however, due to sharp equipment and the varied behaviour of animals, incidents may occur

We will take every precaution necessary to complete the grooming service safely and humanely, using appropriate industry safety equipment, including grooming loops, muzzles and restraints. I grant permission to the selected salon/groomer to utilise the correct restraints for the health and safety of my pet and grooming service provider.

An allergic reaction may occur. Please let us know if your pet has sensitive skin and any allergies.

Coat Condition- Your dog should come into the salon unmatted and dry state if not, this could incur additional charges. Our prices are based on dogs coming in on an 8-week interval. Fees may be incurred for intervals longer than this due to extra time being needed.

Clip off- Matted coats can cause a variety of skin and health problems and doesn’t allow the air to circulate to the skin, which can lead to hot spots, wounds, bacterial and fungal infections. Fleas, ticks, maggots and other parasites may be lurking in the coat, causing further skin problems. There will be an additional fee for matting.

Matted fur also pulls and binds, causing pain to your pet when they move or lie on the mats. The skin underneath may be raw and inflamed. Matted coats will not dry properly, which can also lead to skin infections.

If your pet’s coat is matted, your pet may need to be clipped extremely short and may show signs of skin irritation and sores.

It is our goal to make your pet’s grooming experience as stress-free as possible. Sometimes, due to the condition of the coat, we may determine that the only humane thing to do is a shave down. This is a short clip, removing all the matting. It is unfeasible to de-mat/brush out the coat as this would cause excessive pain and suffering.

There is a strong chance that your pet’s skin will become more irritated during the clipping process. We recommend using a medicated/sensitive shampoo to help soothe any irritation that may occur.

Due to the mats being tight against the skin, the only way of removing them is to use a short blade to clip between the skin and mats in the unlikely event that your pet may be nicked/cut, because we must work so closely to the skin. We are very careful, but the possibility of injury is there, and you need to be aware of this.

Double-coated breeds clipping- Double-coated dogs have two distinct layers of fur: a soft, dense undercoat for insulation and a longer, coarser outer coat that protects against the elements. Cutting/clipping these coats can permanently damage the coat. Fur E Pet spa will not be held responsible if this occurs, and will only be done on the owner’s request

Medical problems- Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. Please make sure you have filled out your pet’s profile as fully as possible so the service provider is fully aware of any known medical issues before starting the service.

I understand that in the best interests of my pet, the salon/groomer may request immediate veterinary treatments. I am aware that this will be at my expense if emergency services are required.

I understand that senior pets have a greater chance of injury during grooming. I will not hold Fur E Pet Spa responsible for an accident or injury to my pet.

Deposited/Booking fee- Fur E Pet Spa requests deposits for bookings. This can vary from £20-£40 depending on the cost of the groom. Payment is required at the time of booking, and if payment is not received within 48 hours, the appointment will be cancelled. This can be taken off the price of your groom or rolled over to your next appointment.

Arriving late- If you are going to be late for your appointment, please let us know ASAP. We work to a schedule throughout the day. For this reason, if you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, we may not be able to groom your dog. The above cancellation terms will apply. (If you let us know you will be late we may be able to accommodate you)

Late Collection- We will text you with around 20-30 minutes' notice with a time to collect your dog. Should you arrive more than 20 minutes after the time given, a fee will apply and will be charged at £5 per 15 minutes from the time given for collection.

Cancellation- We request a 48-hour notice if you need to cancel your pet’s appointment. Late cancellations will lose their booking fee. Regularly missed appointments will require full payment up-front to secure a new appointment

Payments- All fees must be settled at the end of treatment. All prices provided are an estimate and final costs will be calculated on the day. Additional charges may be incurred i.e pet is bigger than expected, overweight or requires additional time to complete the groom.

Teeth Cleaning- We use our Emmi-Pet Ultrasonic Toothbrush. It is an additional service that can be added to grooms or as a stand-alone service. This is not a scale and polish that would be provided by the Vets, it is a slow and gentle service that over time reduces plaque and whitens teeth. We are not able to provide this service if the plaque if affecting the gums and/or any teeth are wobbly. Each dog will be assessed individually and can be refused teeth cleaning at any point. Owners should be aware that the removal of plaque and tartar can reveal conditions that could not be seen prior to removal and may require veterinary attention. Fur E Pet Spa will not be held responsible for any problems occurring from poor dentition before, during or after any ultrasonic sessions. Emmi-Pet Ultrasonic sessions is not a veterinary procedure.

Photographs - Your pet may be photographed before, during or after its groom. Photographs may be used on the Fur E Pet Spa website and/or social media sites. Please inform us if you wish your pet not to be photographed.
